Watercolourpaints

Been away from blogger for a while trying to get the hang of Acrylic's

I have never changed to Acrylic as i didn't want my paintings to look like photographs

Watercolour Paintings are beautiful compared to Acrylic. and although people say they are more difficult, i dont agree,
 I think they are paintings that you have to be in a mood to get good results from

 anyway  i first tried to mix Watercolour with Acrylics as I like the idea that when you get it wrong you can paint it out and try again
But that didn't work as shown below they dont go together at all
A bit of a Watercolour sky and then most of the rest was Acrylic on Watercolour paper

Next I tried Acrylic on its own onto canvas 10" x 8"

I Couldn't get the skies that I could in watercolour and I couldn't get the paint off the brush  but I did paint over and over the tree and the two people

just to try to get the paint off the brush was hard it was a nightmare so I decided to go to the local store and buy everything I though that would help to have a serious go at Acrylic's

first thing I did was wrong was to but Daler and Rowney System 3 Acrylics I bought Flow Improver, Glazing Medium, Also Paint Colours, Cadmium Yellow Naples Yellow Cobalt Blue Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red Alizarin Crimson Raw Sienna Burnt Umber White And Black,
 Also A Water mixable Oil Paint colour white,
 and when i got home I saw that some of the Acrylics were Heavy Body

I also Bought a stay wet longer Paint Box Pallet which was a good buy

I tried to paint  a background and found it impossible to paint with these paints,
 if I added water then the paint was so thin it would not cover after googling Daler Acrylics they talked about jelly like paint and System 3 is not good paint to start with
 so the Next Day I took all the paint back and got a refund and thought I would try Windsor and Newton Galeria Range

well I am glad I did its a lot better I also bought some Daler Rowney System 3 Brushes one being a rigger what a difference they were good

 I put some clouds into the sky in this painting of Westminster bridge after watching how on a you tube video, and finished it from a early attempt at Acrylic and it sold straight away

So i got the bug Now

I also bought some Black and White Flow Acrylics by Media which are good 

Looking Online I thought I would try some city scapes as opposed to my Landscapes

The One  below Was a Watercolour that I Painted over with my new found Paint not great but getting better

then tried these Two,Paintings below [ It seems that the girls are really a seller in Acrylics ]

Next i tried this Westminster from the other side of the bridge

I am starting to enjoy this paint here's how i did the painting above

with a 13" x 9" Canvas I roughly drew in the 3 buildings then i Painted the Sky some paint went over the buildings but that donsent matter as you can paint back over it again

I wanted to get the right size for the Telephone box so i drew it with a White watercolour pencil then painted the whole thing in Titanium white  Acrylic

I then Painted that till i got it right

I then did the same with the London Bus and painted that till i was happy

then the Girl I have started to get a collection of these Women

 and i think the Paintings look better with them so the same again draw with white pencil paint with white titanium and the paint till you think its good enough

I dont think that these paintings are brilliant but i do feel that i am learning quickly and getting used to using Acrylics
