Burnham On Sea Lighthouse

I Wanted to do a watercolour of the lighthouse on the beech at burnham on sea, This is how I went about it, step by step.

Firstly I went onto google earth and look at some of the images of the beach around where the lighthouse is situated this is the image that i liked the most

I then painted the background using yellow red and a mixture of blue and alazarin crimson when this had dried I drew the lighthouse very lightly with pencil then painted using a white watercolour and black mixed giving the final result

cdfboy.artweb.com

I would now like to add a few silhouettes of boats on the beach but I was frightened of spoiling the painting but as I usually paint everything again I will add the boats to the next one

paints used were Windsor and newton Artist Quality Watercolour with Bockingfords 300 gm paper

THANKS FOR LOOKING
